The UCI Distinguished
Speaker Series, in collaboration with the UCI Department of Psychiatry
and Human Behavior, is an ongoing offering of continuing education
workshops in couples and family therapy based on the most current
innovative research and treatment methods. Our invited faculty are
among the most respected in the profession, presenting cutting edge
clinical approaches to the Southern California professional community.
The workshops are either 1 or 2 all-day presentations focused on one
topic or the work of one particular expert in couples or family therapy.
The Foundation is an approved provider of the APA and the Board of
Behavioral Sciences. The workshops usually grant 7 hours for 1 day
workshop; 14 hours for 2 day workshops. Some examples of past workshops

The Foundation for the Contemporary Family is approved by the American
Psychological Association (A.P.A.)
to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Foundation
for the Contemporary Family maintains
responsibility for its programs and their contents. Credits are provided
on an hour-per-hour basis.
The Foundation for the Contemporary Family is a board-approved provider
(PCE No. 2688 )
for the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California. The Foundation's
programs meet the qualifications
for continuing education credits on an hour-per-hour basis for MFT's
and/or LCSW's as required by
the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
