With
Dr. Judith Zucker Anderson
This popular seminar, co-sponsored with the UCI Department of Psychiatry
and Human Behavior, fills a local clinical training need which provides
the practicing therapist an opportunity to gain expertise and confidence
in treating couples. In a small group format, it presents an effective,
empirically based couples therapy model from an attachment theory
framework based on Emotionally Focused Therapy [EFT], Gottman’s
marital research and guided by new insights from neuroscience. MORE

The Anatomy of Intimacy conference is a large, multiple faculty, two-day
conference held every other year, co-sponsored by the UCI Department
of Psychiatry and in collaboration with the Lifespan Learning Institute.
The intention of the series is to explore contemporary relationships
through the interdisciplinary lens of couples therapy, attachment
theory, psychology, interpersonal neurobiology and affective neuroscience.
Each conference chooses a main theme and convenes the best and brightest
clinicians and researchers in the world to present their work and
dialogue with each other.
